BioAcademy is organizing overseas modules in Philippines and Indonesia as part of Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy PSU -Course for Indian Forest Service Officers.
In both destinations courses are interesting combination of theory, case-studies, field excursions and industrial visits. Courses are covering 8 different thematic areas: Joint forest management, Integrated watershed development, Forest based livelihood and Tribal welfare activities, Management of protected areas/eco-development, Resolving human-environmental conflicts, External donor agencies aided projects, Biodiversity conservation and forest management and Ecotourism development.
The Aim of this course is to provide participants with understanding of changing forest sector and new demands in changing societies, in national and global context, and to present good examples of how these challenges have been successfully solved in Indonesia and Philippines. Both courses are flavored with recent Finnish and Global innovations in forestry sector!
Our main partner in Indonesia is Bogor Agricultural University (Institute Pertanian Bogor, IPB) and in Philippines The University of Philippines Los Baños.
